Ministry: Russian gold output rises 19.5% to 232 tns in Jan–Aug
MOSCOW, Dec 23 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gold output rose 19.5% on the year to 232.16 tonnes in January–August, the Finance Ministry said on Monday citing the data on supplies to the refining plants.
Mined gold output rose 10.1% to 178.71 tonnes and by-product gold output increased 23.3% to 12.7 tonnes, while gold scrap production jumped by 88.2% to 40.75 tonnes.
Russia’s silver output decreased 9.5% to 634.84 tonnes in the period. Primary silver production fell 3.6% to 307.16 tonnes, while by-product silver output increased 4.4% to 221.07 tonnes, and production of silver scrap fell 37.6% to 106.61 tonnes.
